@@1001nights The life she had with these wonderful people is unimaginable. She spoke their language. Rode horses with no saddle. Fished with bone arrow. She cooked like them. Grilled rats and ate them. Played their instruments etc...When the Japanese invaded in 45 , she was married to a French officer, our father. He was fighting underground against the enemy and got caught, tortured and imprisoned. She had a baby and disguised herself as a nurse to visit him. She pumped her milk to save his life. Her bra was stuffed with newspaper clips with messages from the wives of other prisoners. They would use a needle and puncture letters , and they could see the message against daylight. She hid messages in her bike and she got caught. Beat up with guns....To make a story short. The French won, but lost Vietnam to the Vietminh later on. They would kill any French people in sight. My grand mother was pushed under an army tank. An aunt was sawed alive between two planks. My little cousin was poisoned with glass by the cook etc...My parents were on the black list. And a Giarai saved their life. My father got two medals of honor. She got nothing She wrote a book about it for her children and I always dreamed about going there. On my family graves. But I don't think I ever will.

Would love to visit London, but the more I delve into it the more expensive and out of budget it is. Now looking at Tasmania as an option as there is so many things I can see that is free and is way better than a city experience...See I live on Norfolk Island and we house the second Convict settlement and of course I would have to visit Port Arthur. Love to do Cradle Mountain when it is snowing and spend at least two three nights just being in the middle of the wilderness and hopefully snowing us in. The tour of Tassi really is enticing to me now...
